God determined on Jan 29, 2003, Ernest had served & completed his purpose in this world. With life's race completed, God took his good & faithful servant across the finish line...now in the winner's circle with his Lord & Savior. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War Jan 5, 1951 to Dec 27, 1954. He married Alice Sue Ruggles on Aug 6, 1955. Started his career in Civil Service at Tinker Air Force Base in 1955 & retired in 1983. He was a follower & believer in our Lord & Savior since 1955. He was a member, deacon & SS teacher at Highland Park Baptist Church (HPBC) since 1955. He was a loving husband, Dad, PaPa, brother, & uncle. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, & brother, Archie. He is survived by his wife, Alice Sue Brooks, his children, Carl L. Brooks, Dr. Don E. Brooks, Geneva Teal, & Janell Jones, 7 grandchildren; Amelia Brooks, Timothy Brooks, Brooke Donnelly, April Brooks, Richelle Donnelly, Michael Donnelly, Kyle Jones & siblings; William Brooks, Beulah Chaffin, Earl Brooks, Bob Brooks, & Dana Ayers along with numerous nieces, nephews. Ernest, those who followed you in this life & will follow you into the next life, we applaud what God did through your life & your willingness to share it with all of us. Funeral Services: 10:30 am, Feb 3, Barnes & Johnson Funeral Home, 1820 S. Douglas Blvd, Midwest City, 405-733-2991. Burial to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens. Lunch & Celebration to follow burial for entire family/friends at Highland Park Baptist Church, 600 N. Douglas Blvd. Celebration of his Memory begins @2:00 pm, to share memories in honor of Ernest.
