All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Resthaven Cemetery--Shawnee OK Shawnee Online Shawnee Oklahoma August 23, 2001 Dan Clifford Collier Services for Dan Clifford Collier, 72, will be 10 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Medford. The Rev. Bobby Smith will officiate. Graveside service will be 3:30 p.m. at Resthaven Cemetery in Shawnee. Military honors will be given by the U.S. Army from Fort Sill. Collier died Monday in his home northeast of Medford. He was born March 4, 1929, in Leedey, Okla., the son of Everett Roy Collier and Eula Mary Lee Collier. Collier moved to Shawnee with his family at the age of 5. He graduated from Shawnee High School. He entered the U.S. Army in January 1949, and spent three years in Korea and Japan. He was honorably discharged in June 1952. He and Norma Lee Roberts were married in Tecumseh on Oct. 31, 1952. They had lived in several places, including Shawnee, before their 1974 move to Medford. Collier worked for Koch Hydrocarbon Company for 29 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Cherokee and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. His parents and one brother, Eugene, preceded Collier in death. Survivors include his wife of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Ronnie Morrison of Laverne, Okla.; sons and daughter-in- law, Vernon of Longdale, and Don and Sherry of Perry; grandchildren, Jessica and Tristan Collier of Alva, Mandy Morrison of Laverne, Todd Ralston and Genny Dunlap of Fairview and Danielle Stallings and Bailey Collier of Perry; brothers and sisters-in-law, LeRoy and Verna Collier of Odessa, Texas, and Virgil Collier and Charles and Carol Collier, all of Shawnee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby and Warren Wright, Rosa and Bill Fogle, and Lorene and Jim Buckmaster, all of Shawnee; and many other relatives. Arrangements are under the direction of Hills-Ely Funeral Home, Medford. Memorials may be made to the Hospice-Circle of Love or the First Baptist Church of Medford.
