We are all well at present. We have had rain enough to keep the crops growing the Corn is looking well, our Wheat is looking as though it would be ripe by the first of next week our cane has not been worked out yet so it is not looking very well, it was planted late. I have some sweet potatoes set out my garden is late this year and it does not look very well yet our oats will not do to cut, they were planted too late and there was no rain for a good while after they was sowed, and they did not grow much, our hogs are looking better than they did the horses and colts are looking well we have one little colt don't know whether there will be any more or not. I have 7 mares, 3 yearling colts, 1 two years old horse, 3 work horses and half interest in a stallion. I think I will trade my interest in him to Mr. Bulkeley for 2 or 3 head of horses of some kind I don't want to be bothered with him. I have 22 head of cattle, am milking 7 cows, have 8 hogs I have 45 or 50 acres of land in cultivation, that is enough to make a living with I think. Well my uncle did not stay with me as long as he promised to stay so John did not go home as soon as he thought he would. I think he will be ready to go in about 3 weeks. I am going with him if I can get some one to feed my hogs for me while I am gone. Baby George is (faded) every where now, he keeps us looking after him a good deal. he is a great deal of company for me. He tries to follow his uncle John when he goes to water the horses at the well, we got a letter from Lizzie last week. Charles and the children had been sick but were about well when she wrote, but she was not feeling well herself. I hope you have a lot of pritty flowers. I have nothing but portulacca, did not plant anything else. we thought we would move the hose house about a quarter of a mile west of where it is but don't know that we will get it moved. the grass burrs are so thick and there is too much sand where it is. We will have better drinking water too if we get a well dug back from the river further. I dont like the idea of moving but I think it will be best. Well I can think of nothing else to tell you this time so will close. write soon as you can I would like to hear from you again before I go to see Lizzie from your Sister Mollie Milton or 3 head of horses of some kind
