MINISTER SHOOTS MAN

Domestic Trouble the Cause; Afterward Suicides

Mangum, Okla., July 11 - Rev. J.L. Rea, pastor of the
Mangum Christian church, today shot and probably fatally
wounded George A. Stephens, his brother-in-law, a farmer,
and then cut his own throat.  Rea, although badly
wounded, may recover.

Rev. Rea and his wife had seperated, Mrs Rea going to the
home of her brother on a farm near Mangum.  Stephens went
to the minister's house and asked for his sister's
belongings.  The men quarreled and Rea fired at Stephens
with a shot gun.

Rea formerly lived at Midlothian, Texas.  He came here four
years ago.
