Clovis, Curry County, New Mexico  June 19, 1959

Elmer Vernon Allsup, 56,  died Thursday, June 17 at the Veterans Hospital 
in Albuquerque.  His body was returned to Clovis and funeral services will 
be conducted at 2 p.m Saturday at the Charles V. Steed Memorial Chapel.  
Mr. Allsup died after a short stay at the hospital.
 Mr. Allsup, a farmer, had been a resident of Clovis for 29 years.  He was 
born in Bettina, Greer County, Oklahoma, the son of Christopher Columbus 
and Alpha Ann Rennels Allsup.  He was a veteran of World War II.  Survivors 
include three brothers:  Martin of Brownsfield, Texas, William of Elko, Nevada 
and C. C. Jr. with the U. S. Navy, and three sisters:  Mrs. Jake (Ruth) 
Abernathy and Mrs. George (Daisy) Rasco of Clovis and Mrs. Elzy (Ollie) 
Vanzandt of Willow, Oklahoma.
 The local American Legion post will assist with the services and burial 
will be in Mission Garden of Memories under the direction of Steed Funeral Home.
