  J.D. Beeson
   SPEARMAN - J.D. "Red" Beeson, 87, died Wednesday, March 18, 1998.
   
   Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hansford Cemetery
   with the Rev. Beverly Cook of First Presbyterian Church officiating.
   Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
   
   Mr. Beeson was born in Greer County, Okla. He had lived in the
   Spearman area for 65 years, moving from Granite, Okla. He was a cowboy
   and was employed by the city of Spearman for many years.
   
   He was an Army MP during World War II. He participated in the Normandy
   invasion.
   
   He married Bennie Pilgrim in 1945 at Spearman.
   
   Mr. Beeson was preceded in death by a stepson, Robert Long, and by a
   stepdaughter, Sue Kiss.
   
   Survivors include his wife; and a sister, Mozell Sparks of Spearman.
   
   The family requests memorials be to Hansford Hospice or the Hansford
   County Heart Association.
