All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ William Robert "Bill" Burcham CLAUDE - William Robert "Bill" Burcham, 71, died Sunday, July 9, 2006, in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church in Claude with the Rev. Janet Edwards, pastor, and the Rev. Gene Weinette, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Stratford, officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mr. Burcham was born May 28, 1935, to William Frederick Burcham and Nancy Burcham in Mangum, Okla. He married Mary Lane on Aug. 26, 1956, in Cordell, Okla. He worked for different school districts during his career including White Deer, Wheeler County, Claude and Highland Park and served as teacher, counselor and principal. He was a resident of Shamrock before moving to Claude 21 years ago. He was a member of the Armstrong County Museum Board, Gem Theater Board and Shamrock Lions Club and was the voice for Miss Irish Rose Pageant for 16 years. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Claude, where he served on many committees and was a part of the Methodist Men group. He was a master carpenter, loved being around friends and family and never met a stranger. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Dee Reeder and husband Robby of Shamrock and Elizabeth Burcham of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Brad Reeder and wife Ashley of Shamrock and Reiss Reeder of Cordell; a great-grandchild, Deshya Reeder of Shamrock; a brother, Jim Burcham and wife Barbara of Houston; a sister, Sarah Schreiner and husband Wayne of Lone Wolf, Okla.; four nieces and nephews; seven great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends and family, Gene, Brandi, Tristan and Caleb Weinette, all of Stratford.
