Ruth A. Carpenter

DUMAS - Ruth A. Carpenter, 81, died Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, in Amarillo.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Granite City Cemetery in
Granite, Okla. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of
Dumas.

Mrs. Carpenter was born Nov. 28, 1923, in Granite to Walter and Nancy Ann
Allen. She had worked as a bookkeeper in the food industry. She was an avid
sports fan and a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Haskell Bilbrey; her second
husband, Glen Carpenter; a grandson, B.J. Bilbrey; a brother, Herbert Lester
Allen; and four sisters, Lettie Jewel Perry, Dessie Naomi Griffith, Zula Mae
Elliott and Esther French.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Carlton of Orange, Va.; two sons, Lanny
Bilbrey of Dallas and Danny Bilbrey and wife, Tonja, of Dumas; eight
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to the American Alzheimer's Association
Panhandle Chapter, 2200 W. Seventh Ave., Amarillo, TX 79106.

Viewing will from noon to 5 p.m. today and during regular business hours
Monday through Friday at the funeral home.
