Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Northlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. H.L. Stevens, retired Assembly of God minister, officiating. Masonic rites will be by Masonic Lodge No. 1009. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Harvey was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Willow, Okla. He was a Dumas and Moore County resident since 1950. He married Mary Jane Gossett on June 6, 1942, in Sayre, Okla. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and longtime member of Dumas Masonic Lodge No. 1009 in Dumas. He retired as a real estate broker from Harvey's Real Estate. He served in the Army from 1942 to 1945, serving in the Pacific Theater. He received a Purple Heart, two Bronze Stars and various campaign medals. He was middleweight boxing champion of the Pacific Theater. He was preceded in death by his wife on June 22, 2003. Survivors include two sons, Johnny Harvey and wife, Lyndall, and Sammy Harvey and wife, Shirley, all of Fritch; two daughters, Terri Harvey and Paula Snyder and husband, Jimmy, all of Dumas; a sister, Claudia Hankins of Magalia, Calif.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Wellington Care Center, 1506 Childress St., Wellington, TX 79095; or Memorial Hospice, 302 E. Second St., Dumas, TX 79029.
