All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Amarillo William "Eddie" Edward Knight William "Eddie" Edward Knight, 84, of Amarillo died Sunday, June 6, 2004. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Harold Holt officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Knight was born Oct. 31, 1919, to Ed and Mamie Knight in Duncan, Okla. He was married to Lorene Walters Knight for 48 years. He was an Army World War II veteran, serving in the Philippine Liberation, Asiatic-Pacific Theater and the Occupation of Japan. He was an expert infantryman and received an honorable discharge on Oct. 27, 1946. He owned and operated Knight's Welding in Hart for 30 years before retiring and moving to Amarillo. He was a member of American Quarter Horse Association and was of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife; and three daughters, Angie Richardson, Dianne Anderson and Christine Knight. Survivors include three sisters, Marie Halford of Amarillo, Ethel Holt of Granite, Okla., and Peggy Welch of Hobart, Okla.; a stepdaughter, Brenda Collins of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great- great-grandson.
