Canyon

   Thelma Mae Pond
   Thelma Mae Pond, 91, of Canyon, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998.
   
   Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Brooks Funeral Directors Chapel
   with the Rev. Robert Field, pastor of Southeast Baptist Church,
   officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Kelton
   Cemetery in Kelton.
   
   Mrs. Pond was born in Granite, Okla., and moved to Kelton at an early
   age. She graduated from Kelton High School and lived in Wheeler after
   her marriage.
   
   Mrs. Pond moved from Wheeler to Canyon in 1956 and later moved to
   Odell. She returned to Canyon for 20 years then moved to Amarillo in
   1990 where she lived at the Bivens Retirement Center. She was a
   longtime member of the Kelton Baptist Church and later was a member of
   First Christian Church of Canyon.
   
   She married Aubrey B. Pond in 1927 at Wheeler. She was preceded in
   death by her husband in 1990 and by a daughter, Beulah Bell Pond, in
   1949.
   
   Survivors include two sons, Jim Pond and Doyle E. Pond; two daughters,
   Audrey Seitz and Maxine Galliart; nine grandchildren; and 15
   great-grandchildren.
   
   The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
