   J.B. Shirley
   HEREFORD - J.B. Shirley, 85, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998.
   
   Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Rix Funeral Directors Chapel
   with Kenneth Avaritt of Benton, Ark., officiating. Burial will be in
   Old Friona Cemetery at Friona.
   
   Mr. Shirley was born in Granite, Okla. He married Teriece Sholar in
   1943 at Clovis, N.M. They moved to Hereford 45 years ago.
   
   He was a member of the Five State Collector's Association of National
   Watch and Clock Collectors and was a charter member of the Park Avenue
   Church of Christ.
   
   He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cornelia Ann Shirley in 1944.
   
   Survivors include his wife; three sons, Wayne Shirley of Fort Worth,
   Perry Shirley of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Dwight Shirley of Boyd; a
   daughter, Marlyn Sue May of Lampasas; a brother, Reaford Shirley of
   Selma, Calif.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
