The North Georgia News, March 1, 2000, Blairsville, Union Co., GA:

Mrs. Wanda Brierton, age 76, of Blairsville, Georgia, formerly of San Diego, CA, 
passed away Monday, February 21, 2000 at her home following an extended illness.

Mrs. Brierton was born in Greer, Oklahoma, on Wednesday, March 7, 1923, a daughter 
of the late John Thomas Lovelace and Velma Barker Lovelace. She had been living in 
the Blairsville area since December, 1999, coming here from San Diego. Mrs. Brierton 
was a member of University Christian Church in San Diego, where she had been very 
active in Outreach and numerous committees. She was an avid bridge player. Mrs. 
Brierton had a career with Sears, Roebuck Company in middle management that spanned 
20 years. She changed careers in 1971, graduating as a paralegal with honors from 
the University of San Diego. Mrs. Brierton was loved and very much respected by all 
who knew her.

Survivors include her daughter and son in law: Linda and Hugh Gwynn, of Blairsville, 
and sons: James, John and Steven Brierton, all of San Diego, other relatives also 
survive.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, March 7th, at 4 p.m. from University Christian 
Church in San Diego. If you wish, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
