Carpenter Earmon F. Carpenter, 76, of Amarillo, died Sunday, March 1, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. F.M. Byford of Paramount Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites by Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 26. Mr. Carpenter was born in Bonham and had been a resident of Amarillo for 30 years. He served in Italy, Africa and the United States as a staff sergeant with the Air Force. He worked as a plant foreman for Helium Operations from 1951 until retiring in 1974. He was a member of the National Association of Federal Employees, the Disabled American Veterans and Paramount Baptist Church. Mr. Carpenter married Doris Walters in 1945 at Mangum, Okla. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Ginger Avery of Visalia, Calif.; two sons, Brad Carpenter of Bloomington, Ill., and Don Carpenter of Burleson; two sisters, Dean Smith of Mangum and Jean Worthen of Otis, Kan.; and six grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson St., Amarillo, Texas 79101.
