All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ ALMARAH CAROLINE HESTER OBIT - THE GRANITE ENERPRISE 17 DEC 1920 Mrs. A.C. HESTER, wife of our former townsman, J.W. HESTER, died at Perry, Ok. Sunday morning Dec. 12 after a lingering illness. Mrs. HESTER lived at Granite for some seven or eight years, and was well known and highly esteemed by a large number of our people. She was born in Todd Co. KY, 78 years ago and has been a resident of Ok. for over 30 years. She joined the Presbyterian church at the age of 20 years and was ever a faithful woman. Deceased was married to J.W. HESTER of which union five sons were born. They were Eber HESTER OF Granite, Maon HESTER of Apache, J.L. HESTER of Pawhuska, Ruse HESTER, who died at Granite in 1909, and Abbott HESTER, who died of cholera while serving in the Philippines in 1904. The bodies of both her sons now rest in the City Cemetery here. The funeral took place Tuesday from the Presbyterian church, Rev. Bigbee in charge, when the remains were laid to rest beside those of her sons, they being followed to the grave by a large number of symphizing friends. Besides the bereaved husband, both of the absent sons, together with the widow of R. HESTER, were here for the funeral.
