Kemper Ray H. Kemper, 93, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth and Pierce, with the Rev. Stan Coffey, pastor of San Jacinto Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by the funeral home. Mr. Kemper was born in Granite, Okla. and moved to Amarillo 57 years ago. He had been a farmer in Swisher County for 20 years, and retired from Phillips Petroleum Company. He was a member of the Sheriffs Association, and was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ina, in 1994, and by a son, Buddy, in 1969. Survivors include two daughters, Lynda Zimmerman of Dallas and Glynda Patterson of Arlington; a son, Truman Kemper of Dallas; three sisters, Opal Vice of Tulia, Gladys Null of Vega and Theresa Wilson of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center.
