Gladys Parish
EARTH - Gladys Parish, 92, of Afton, a former resident of Earth, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Earth United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Burton of Spur and the Rev. Henry R. Stone of Earth officiating. Burial will be in Earth Memorial Cemetery by Parsons-Ellis Funeral Home of Earth.
Mrs. Parish was born in Reed, Okla., and was class valedictorian of her senior class. For 33 years, she was a school teacher in Texas and Oklahoma.
Mrs. Parish was a member of the United Methodist Church of Spur, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 870 of Earth, the State Teacher's Association and Earth Town and Country Study Club.
She married Clive Peyton Parish in 1938 at Canyon. He died in 1967.
Survivors include a daughter, Dixie Cornett of Afton; a son, Dennis Parish of Visalia, Calif.; a brother, Harley Bulls of Levelland; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
