Pruett died Saturday, March 13, 1971, in the Mangum hospital after an extended illness. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today (Monday) in the Baptist Church at Reed with Rev. Bill Mosley, pastor of Sulphur Baptist and Rev. Tom Bolton, pastor of the Reed Church, officiating. Interment was in the Reed Cemetery under direction of Greer Funeral Home. Macy Bell Pruett was born October 29, 1881 in Coryell County, Texas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Petree, and came to Greer County with her parents in 1904. She was married to Francis M. Pruett in 1905 and they made their home in the Sulphur Community. He preceeded her in death in 1926. Surviving are two sons and five daughters, Frances Pruett of Lawton, Hoyt Pruett of Perryton, Texas, Mrs. Myrtle Smith of Mangum, Mrs. Rose Lee Bledson of Enid, Mrs. Clovis Rust of Portales, N.M., Mrs. Modell Hoover of Freemont, California and Mrs. Josephine Routh of Enid: two brothers, Otis Petree of Muleshoe, Texas and Allen Petree of Houston: three stepchildren, Oda Pruett of Portales, Pearl Mosley of Pampa, Texas and Mrs. Jewel McCampbell of Midland, Texas: twenty-six grandchildren: thirty-three great granchildren and two great great grandchildren.
