(21 Jun 1923, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Z. T. PRYSE DIED SUDDENLY Was Postmaster at Mangum, and Well Known in This Section. Zack T. Pryse, postmaster at Mangum, died very suddenly on Monday last, from a hemmorage (sic) of the brain. Mr. Pryse arose in his usual health that morning, but a short time after complained of a severe pain at the base of the brain. Physicians were called, but he steadily grew worse, soon becoming unconscious, and passing away three hours later. Mr. Pryse was very well known all over Western Oklahoma, having resided at Mangum for over thirty years, locating there when old Greer county was claimed as a portion of the state of Texas. Less than one year ago, Mr. Pryse was appointed postmaster at Mangum, he having been quite prominent for years as a Republican politician of Western Oklahoma. Funeral services were held Monday night under the direction of the Masonic fraternity, of which Mr. Pryse was a member, and the remains taken to his old home in Kentucky for burial. He was a district deputy of the Masonic lodge, and very active in church work and also in politics.
