All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED Gerry "Nannie" Pearson Simon Gerry "Nannie" Pearson Simon, 80, of Amarillo died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with Glen Walton of Bell Avenue Church of Christ officiating. Mrs. Simon was born Jan. 23, 1925, in Mangum, Okla., to Herbert H. and Myrtle Ivy Stephen. She graduated from Spearman High School and attended business school in Borger. She married Wally Pearson on Oct. 7, 1944. He preceded her in death in July 1979. In 1965, Mrs. Simon joined the staff of the Amarillo Globe-News, where she worked in the classified advertising department. In 1973, she became the dispatch manager at the Globe-News. She was the first woman to ever hold this position. Her career with the Globe-News continued, and by the time of her retirement in 1991, she held the position classified advertising supervisor. Mrs. Simon married Kenneth Simon in Las Vegas in June 1983. Mr. Simon preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 2003. Survivors include a daughter, Pat Kendrick of Wichita Falls; a son, Mike Pearson of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Stacey Case and Missy Pearson, both of Amarillo, and Mike Kendrick of Bushland; and three great-grandchildren, Bailey, Landan and Kallie. The family suggests memorials be to Olivia's Angels in care of BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176.
