Marie Toombs
MAPLE - Marie Toombs, 75, died Tuesday, March 31, 1998.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Threeway Baptist Church at Maple with the Rev. James Sinclair of the church and the Rev. George Malis of Richland Hills Baptist Church in Muleshoe officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery at Morton. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home of Morton.
Mrs. Toombs was born in Mangum, Okla. She had lived in Maple since 1933, moving from Davidson, Okla.
She was employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Maple for 30 years. She was a member of Threeway Baptist Church in Maple and the Order of the Eastern Star in Morton.
She married Harold Toombs in 1945 at Maple.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Mack Toombs of Muleshoe and Monte Maurice Toombs of Hewett; a daughter, Janice Seals of Terrell; a sister, Thursie Reid of Muleshoe; a brother, Dondal Basham of Avenger; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
