Mrs. Hannah Banks was born in Missouri, Feb. 25, 1837 and passed from this life to her eternal rest Sept. 11, 1906, at home near Sweetwater. Her maiden name was Miss Hannah Thompson. On Aug. 27, 1857, she was united in holy matrimony with Mr. Robert Bank. To this union were born ten children, of whom two have preceeded her to the other world. Mrs. Banks was a member of the Christian church and lived a quiet faithful life. She loved to read her Bible and as a mother and grandmother, she admonished her children and grandchildren to walk in the way of the Bible. As Dorcas of the Bible, Acts 9:36-43, she was full of good works, and she will be greatly missed in her home and community, She lived a pattern life for her children and wished them to follow in her steps. She leaves to mourn her departure a husband, eight children, a number of grand-children and many friends. The funeral services were held at home Sept. 12 at 3 p.m., and largely attended. The remains were taken the next day to Texas, about 18 miles west of Sweetwater, where they were laid to rest. Matt. 11:28 was used as the scripture text and the services were conducted by the undersigned. May God help us to live such lives that we may be counted worthy to meet her in heaven above. Through Christ the way of salvation is made possible for us and let us make use of it. John Haber. BANKS, HANNAH McDONAH (20 Sep 1906, Roger Mills Democrat, Roger Mills Co, OK): We learn with sincere regret of the death of Mrs. Robt. Banks at the Banks home on Sweetwater last week. Mrs. Banks was well known to the older settlers of this part of the county and was loved and respected by all for her generous, christian character. She leaves an aged husband, Col. Robt. Banks, eight children, all now grown to manhood and womanhood, to mourn her death.
