SEPT. 18: 

Cole 

Arlie Otis Cole, 91, died Sunday at his home in Hollis. 

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Dryden Cemetery Chapel with Pastor 
Jim Westmoreland officiating. 

Burial will follow at the Gould Cemetery. 

He was born July 25, 1910 in Arlie, Texas to William Robert and Cynthia Salina 
Painter Cole. 

He drilled wells from 1950 until 1980, farmed in the Dryden Community for 40 
years and then moved to Hollis and worked for the county for 10 years until 
retirement. 

He married Ruby Agnes Young on Aug. 9, 1934. 

She died Oct. 26, 1991. 

He enjoyed treasure hunting and driving around the countryside. 

He lived at home and was able to drive until the time of his death. 

He is survived by his son Leon Cole and wife Juanita of Hollis; two grandsons, 
Lyndell and wife Sheila of Hollis, and Lance and wife Liz of Minot, N.D.; four 
granddaughters, Lana Smith and husband Kevin of Tulsa, Lisha Strickland and 
husband Dale of Mustang, Lori Edmonds and husband Mike of Gould and Lesly Wells 
and husband Rob of Eldorado; ten great-grandchildren, Blake and Bradley Schmidt 
and Kevin Smith of Tulsa, Justin and Tanner Cole of Hollis, Shanna Smith of 
Hollis, Carl and Mary Strickland, Bethany and Braden Edmonds. 

He was preceded in death by his father William Robert Cole in 1953, mother 
Cynthia Salina Cole in 1947, wife Ruby, one brother and two sisters.
