Okla. Archives. ************************************************************ Alverda Wing, formerly of Blair, died Tuesday at her daughter's home in Morrilton, Ark. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kincannon Funeral Home Chapel in Altus with the Rev. Melvin Moody and the Rev. Bill Brown officiating. Rev. Brown is the pastor of the First Baptist Church of Morrilton. Burial will follow the services at the Dryden Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. She was born Feb. 15, 1913 in Fort Worth, Texas, to Charlie and Addie (Tucker) Pennington. She attended Metcalf and Gould Schools. She married Tommie Williams in 1929 in Russell. He preceded her in death in October of 1967. She was a nurse for more than 22 years in Ardmore, Hollis and Altus. In December of 1985 she married Herbert Wing, who preceded her in death in June of 1999. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Blair for several years and was currently a member of the First Baptist Church in Morrilton. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafts, cooking and spending time with her children. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; 12 brothers and sisters. She is survived by three daughters, Betty Ragsdale, Altus; Mary (Argo) Lee, Hollis; Kay Gurley, Morrilton; three sons, Thomas Williams, Everett, Wash., James Williams, Ardmore; Lynn Williams, Tulsa; two step-daughters, Elaine Ellington, Grapevine, Texas; Mary Young, Union Kent.; a step-son, John Wing, Springdale, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The Wing family will receive friends and guests Friday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home
