Archives. ************************************************************ JULY 10: Bartlett Charles Romie Bartlett, life-long resident of Harmon County, died at Harmon Memorial Hospital in Hollis on Saturday at the age of 81. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Hollis. Interment followed at Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis. Arrangements are with Patterson Greer Funeral Home. He was born Dec. 18, 1920, in Harmon County to Hiram Robert and Lela Ann (Coffee) Bartlett. He married Mary Deborah Mitchell Nov. 18, 1939 in Hollis. He lived and worked in Harmon County where he was a farmer and rancher. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He also served on the school board for Westview and Arnett schools. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Mary of the home; son Johnny Bartlett and wife Tricia; daughte, Peggy Kirchoff and husband Bart, all of Hollis; sister LaWanda Thompson of Heavener; brothers Frank Bartlett of Abernethy, Texas, Kenneth Bartlett of Hollis, Lindy Bartlett of Eufaula and Bob Bartlett of Altus; four grandchildren, Lesli Partain of Tuttle, Lori Taylor of Rowlett, Texas, Lindsi Bartlett of Weatherford and Kelly Kirchoff, also of Weatherford; great-grandchildren Rebekah Partain and Caleb Partain, both of Tuttle. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother James Bartlett and four sisters, Ovetta Bartlett, Ogretta Richey, Auvanelle Wake and Jean Lane.
