Okla. Archives. ************************************************************ AUG. 30: Thompson Charlie "Ray" Thompson, 56, Lone Wolf died Thursday after a long illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Pentecostal Church in Mangum with Brother Keith Walls officiating. Burial will be at the Reed Cemetery. Arrangements are with Greer Funeral Home of Mangum. He was born Jan. 12, 1946 in Hollis to Jessie Jake and Jessie Mae (McDonald) Thompson. He was employed as a corrections officer with the Granite Reformatory, Goodyear Tire Co. and for Paul Elkins in his radiator shop. He served in the National Guard Unit in Mangum for two years. He married Robin Thompson, Jan. 10, 1978 in Wellington, Texas. They made their home in Lone Wolf. He was affiliated with the Pentecostal Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Jake Thompson, two brothers, Johnny Mack Thompson and Billy Thompson. Survivors include his mother, Jessie Mae Thompson of Mangum; wife Robin Thompson of Lone Wolf; children Chris and his wife Rhonda Thompson of Mangum, Steven Thompson, Mangum, Kelly Williams, Charlie Ray Thompson, Jr., Dustin Thompson and Justin Thompson, all of Lone Wolf; four grandchildren, Cody Thompson, Dylan Pollard, and Ransom Thompson, all of Mangum, and Damron Williams of Lone Wolf.
