Okla. Archives. ************************************************************ Charles Russell Woodman, 77, passed away Friday at his home in Rush Springs. Services will be Monday at the Gould Methodist Church with the Rev. Hoyt Ellis officiating. Burial will follow the Gould Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stewart Funeral Service of Hollis. He was born Aug. 22, 1923 in Carrier to Elijah (Lige) and Lucille Dyche Woodman. He graduated from Gould High School in 1941 and in 1942 he joined the Navy. He served in the Pacific Fleet during World War II. He married Julia (Judy) Jones on Oct. 12, 1946 at his parents house in Gould. He was an avid sports fan and a fan of the University of Oklahoma. He umpired baseball games in Harmon County and was a farmer all his life. He was a retired volunteer firefighter, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and was a member of the Gould Methodist Church. His hobbies including watching his grandchildren play baseball and show livestock at the livestock shows. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Earl Livingston of Ninnekah a son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Katy Woodman of Rush Springs, five grandchildren, Mellissa Livingston of Oklahoma City, Michael Livingston of Ninneka, Evan, Randy and James Woodman of Rush Springs, his sister and her husband, Ruth and Charles Dill of Dumas, Texas, two brothers, Gene and wife, Jo Woodman of Canyon, Texas and Jim and wife, Ann Woodman of Abilene, Texas, many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lige and Lucille Woodman, his brother J. Walter Woodman and his beloved wife, Judy on Sept. 13, 1991.
