Archives. ************************************************************ Whitman Doshia Whitman, a lifetime resident of Hollis, died Friday at Harmon County Memorial Hospital in Hollis at the age of 86. Funeral services were held today at the Dodson, Texas Church of Christ. Bob Garton and Earl Seigrist officiated. Burial followed at the Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis. Services were under the direction of Patterson Greer Funeral Home of Hollis. She was born Aug. 22, 1915 to Lucinda Gilley Burge and James Homer Burge in Goodlett, Texas. She married William "Bill" Whitman Oct. 26, 1933 in Hollis. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She spent a large part of her life caring for the elderly. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill Whitman, seven brothers, and one great-grandson. She is survived by son Clyde Whitman and his wife Mary of Hollis; six grandchildren, Donna Crabb and husband Larry of Hollis, Bill and Dixie Whitman of Binger, Robert Whitman of Cache, Phillip Mullins of Altus and Michael Baker of Independence, Kan., Stephanie and Rick Jones of Broken Arrow; nine great- grandchildren, M'kaley M'kenzi, and M'kyla Crabb, Cole Whitman, Jordyn and Blakely Whitman, Brandy Brown and Zachary and Tiffany Jones.
