Okla. Archives. ************************************************************ Elvirra "Etta" Baughier, 89, former resident of Duke, died at the Ennis Care Center in Ennis Texas, Friday. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Rock Cemetery near Duke under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus. She was born May 30, 1912 at Hollis to Hugh and Mary Bullard. She graduated from Carter High School and Plainview Business College. She married Orin Baughier May 15, 1940 at Carter. They moved to Midwest City where they lived 39 years and where she was active in business and community affairs. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Oklahoma Home Demonstration Club and was the organist for the Country Estates Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, gardening and was an avid reader. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters Clessie, Clara and Maudie and brothers Lee and Hubert. Survivors include son James Baughier and wife Dinah of Midlothian, Texas; two sisters, Hazel Rockhold of Kansas City, Kan. and Marilyn Eldridge of Hemet, Calif.; two grandchildren, Mark Slaten of Waxahachie, Texas and Harry Baughier of Rockwall, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Toni and Brittany Slaten of Waxahachie.
