Archives. ************************************************************ May 24, 2002 Elbert Beaver, long time resident of Harmon County, died at his residence in Hollis on Wednesday at the age of 71. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Patterson Greer Funeral Home in Hollis with the Rev. Jack Harris and the Rev. Tyrone Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Patterson Greer Funeral Home. He was born June 29, 1930 to Elzie and Marie Beaver in Paris, Texas. He married Mae Francis in 1955. After being widowed, he married Mary Ann Barnes. He lived and worked in Harmon County as a manual laborer. He enjoyed music, singing and family gatherings including spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mae Francis and his second wife, Mary Ann. He is survived by his parents, Elzie and Marie Beaver of Turkey Texas, two brothers, Joe Louis Beaver of Hale Center, Texas and Wilbert Beaver of New York; two sisters, Ella Olphant of Hemphill, Texas and Leola Beaver of Turkey, Texas; five children, Diane Beaver of Altus, JoAnn Cruz, Debra Ann Hickman, Mary Ann Bearer and Louise Bearer, all of Abilene, Texas and many other family and friends.
