Okla. Archives. ************************************************************ Forrest Gene Reid, 72, a long time resident of Altus passed away Saturday in Oklahoma City. Services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Altus City Cemetery. The Rev. Dennis Osborne will officiate. He was born to John Wesley and Helen Ruth Reid, north of Altus, on Feb. 28, 1929. He married Oma Lee "Calhoun" on May 14, 1979 at Hollis. He was a self employed farmer and rancher and was also retired from mineral drilling. He enjoyed raising Hereford, flying his Cessna and also building and flying ultra light planes. Survivors included his wife, Oma Lee Reid of Altus his three children, Joyce Perryman of Altus, Virginia Ann Maloney and Albert Wayne Reid both of Grand Junction, Colo. two step-daughters, Deborah Kay Compton of Redondo Beach, Calif and Carla Mary Lisle of Oklahoma City a step-son, Tracy Alan Holland of Edmond a sister, Flora Nell Deatherage of Altus; two brothers, Kenneth Reid of Weatherford and Gary Reid of Kingfisher grandchildren, Leann Gross, Kelly Perryman, Alyssa Maloney, David Maloney, Allison Blevins, Ashley Reid, 1st Lt. Todd Holland, Trent Holland, Zachary Holland, Chase Holland, Eric Holland, Chad Holland, Tucker Holland and Audrey Lisle and three great-great-grandchildren, Savannah Holland, Taylor Marie Gross and Kaden Mathew Gross; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his a step-son, Major Travis Dale Holland a brother, Ross sister, Joyce and both of his parents.
