Okla. Archives. ************************************************************ J.R. McCarver, 70, passed away Wednesday at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus. Services were held Friday at the Stewart Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Boyd Whitehead and the Rev. Gary Bohannon officiating. Burial followed at the Gould Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stewart Funeral Service. He was born Oct. 7, 1930 to William T. and Eula Sexton McCarver in Hollis. He married Alda Bea Miranda June 1, 1951 in Hollis. He worked for Wonder Bread and the Janus Supply Co. He lived in Altus for 35 years and was a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Alda Bea of the home; daughter, Pam McCarver of Altus, son, Bruce McCarver and his wife, Sharon of Hollis, a grandson, Derek McCarver of Weatherford, a granddaughter, Carla McCarver of Hollis and a sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Alton Grant of Bristow. He was preceded in death by his father William in 1956, his mother, Eula in 1995 and four sisters, Ima Jean McCarver in 1922, Louis Weldon in 1957, Ruth Peyton in 1997 and Lorene Singleton in 1999. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jackson County Memorial Hospital Hospice or Gideon Bibles.
