Okla. Archives. ************************************************************ June 25, 2002: Means Murphy Means, Jr. , 49, died Monday at the Northwest Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Calvary Community Church in Hollis with the Rev. Tyrone Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Stewart Funeral Service of Hollis. He was born Aug. 18, 1952 in Spencer to Murphy Means, Sr. and Olivia Crosby Means. He came to Hollis in 1970 and graduated from Hollis High School in 1972. He served in the United State Navy for four years. He married Jessie Bell in 1987 in Wellington, Texas. He was a farmer and highway road worker. He was a member of the Church of God in Christ. He enjoyed fishing, particularly in San Diego, Calif. He is survived by his wife Jessie of the home; son Murphy Means, Jr. of Hollis; daughters Donita Means and Rita Bell, both of Hollis, Segoria Means of San Diego, Agatha Bell, Ramona Bell, and Michelle Ingram, all of Hollis; three grandsons and three granddaughters; three brothers, Harvey L. Means and wife Opal of Hollis, Wesley Means of Houston, Texas and Johnny Ray Means of Helena and many nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson Javier Means.
