Archives. ************************************************************ Aug. 16 Horton Nina Horton, 83, lifelong resident of Hollis, died at the Baptist St. Anthony Hospital in Amarillo, Texas Aug. 14, 2002 following a short illness. Services were held today at the Hollis Church of Christ with Johnny Horton, Jeff Foster, Richard Burk and Bob Garton officiating. Interment was to follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis. Services were under the direction of Paterson Greer Funeral Home in Hollis. She was born Jan. 12, 1991 in Hollis to A.G. and Susie (Browder) McClanahan and was the youngest of 13 children. She married J.R. Horton Feb. 3, 1940 in Hollis. She was a member of the Hollis Church of Christ and also a longtime member of the Criterion Club. She worked almost 20 years at the ASCS in Hollis before opening her photography studio in 1960. She grew beautiful flowers that were admired by many, loved to spend time with friends playing dominoes and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and twelve brothers and sisters. Survivors include daughters Lenda Burk and husband Richard of Boerne, Texas, Kathy Thompson and husband Eddie of Hollis; son Johnny Horton and wife Becky of Canyon, Texas; grandchildren Aaron Burk and wife Andrea, Allyson Burk, Brent Horton and wife Jill, Amy Horton, Amber Horton, Alicia and Wesley Lester, Heather Thompson and Chase Thompson; great grandchildren Daniel Burk, Baylee Horton, Tristan Spann, Tesla Lester and Haley Thompson. of Patterson Greer Funeral Home.
