Okla. Archives. ************************************************************ SEPT. 13: Scott Perry Mack "P.M." Scott, 78, died Wednesday in Edmond. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Nazarene Church in Dodson, Texas with the Rev. Dale Pierce and the Rev. Al Mixon officiating. Burial will follow at the North Fairview Cemetery in Wellington, Texas He was born Nov. 21, 1921 on the family farm in Harmon County to Christine McPherson Scott and Hilliard Perry Scott. When he was about ten-years-old, the state line was moved to its present location, making the family homestead a part of Childress County, Texas. He continued to farm until his health forced him into retirement. He served in World War II in the 31st Infantry Division in the Leyte and Mindanao Phillipine Islands from 1944-1946. He was a staff sergeant in the 310-ordinance depot company stationed in Del Monte, Mindanao after the war ended. He worked for Tri-County Butane from 1952-1958 and became acquainted with many residents of the tri-county area before he began farming and custom combining full-time in 1958. He did custom wheat harvesting and ran a repair shop. He married Mary Lois Bledsoe June 5, 1957. After 38 years of marriage, she died in 1985 from a long illness with cancer. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John and Debbie Scott of Wellington; daughter and son-in-law Kathlyn and Kevin Britton of Edmond; four grandchildren, Laci Scott of Houston, Texas, Cami Scott of Amarillo, Texas, Trenda Scott of Houston and Matt Britton of Edmond. Memorials may be made to the Dodson, Texas or Wellington Cemetery Associations or to the Nazarene Church of Dodson.
