Okla. Archives. ************************************************************ OCT. 29 Roy Lloyd Vaughan, 91, died Thursday at Oklahoma Veteran Center, Clinton. Graveside services were held on Saturday at Riverside Cemetery, under the direction of Stewart Funeral Service. He was born July 2, 1911, at Milford, Texas to Jeff and Laura Darrow Vaughan. He moved to Vinson with his parents as a child. He married Nancy Ann Brooks October 9, 1936 in Mangum. He served his country during WWII in the Army in Japan. He was a carpenter in the area for many years. He was a member of the Mangum Elks Lodge 1169 and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his wife Nancy of Mangum; one son Garland Vaughan, Mangum; one daughter Rhonda Wilson and her husband John, Cordell; one grandson Scott Hamblin, Mangum; two granddaughters Tonia Marquez, Cordell; and Kristina Wilson, Hobart; six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents Jeff and Laura Vaughan, six brothers, Andy, George, Archie, Lee Bob and J. D., and one sister Judy Guiterez.
