Okla. Archives. ************************************************************ Ruby Murray Garrett, 95, Lawton, died July 1, 2001 in Lawton. Funeral services were held July 3 in the University Church of Christ with Weldon Flanagan and Mike Bentley officiating. Burial was in the Fairmont Cemetery, Hollis, under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home. She was born Oct. 10, 1905 in Temple, Texas to Archie and Ella Barnes. She was married to Douglas Murray in 1924 at Altus. He preceded her in death in 1972. She then married Bud Garrett in 1979 at Wellington, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1985. She grew up in the Mangum area and primarily a homemaker, but had worked as an Avon representative and with her husband at their service station in Hollis. She moved to Lawton in 1988. She had been a member of the Hollis Church of Christ and at the time of her death, was a member of the University Church of Christ in Lawton. Survivors include daughter Bobbie Prock, Lawton; son Douglas C.Murray, Chandler; two sisters, Eddie Faye Thornton, Amarillo, Texas and Oleta Brewer, Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and many dear friends.
