Okla. Archives. ************************************************************ April 5 2002 Wanda Maxine Garner, 71, died Thursday at her home outside of Hollis. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Corinth Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Far officiating. Burial will follow at the Dryden Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stewart Funeral Service. She was born Jan. 13, 1931 in Hollis to Jack and Gladys Fails Leathers. She attended Ron High School, Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford and nursing school in Memphis, Texas. She married Don Garner Sept. 14, 1950 in Gainesville, Texas. She worked as and LPN and Director of Nurses at Colonial Manor for more than 26 years. She was an avid gardener. She was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Click and husband Damon of Cleburne, Texas and Patti Grota and husband Phil of Boerne, Texas; son Mark Garner of Hollis; brother Danny Lethers and wife Sharon of Hollis; four granddaughters, Jennifer Robbins and husband Josh of Austin, Texas, Brandi Balch and husband Jimmy of Fort Worth, Texas and Marcia and Laura Grota of Boerne, Texas; three grandsons, Dustin Garner and wife Aslee of Amarillo, Texas, Christopher Garner of Cleburne, Texas and Joshua French of Altus; one great-granddaughter, Mikael Garner of Amarillo, Texas and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Gladys Leathers, husband Don Garner and two sisters, JoAnn Leathers and Sammie Kerbo.
