Hollis, 64, resident of Albuquerque, N.M., went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, June 19, 2000. Bill died after a short battle with cancer. Bill is survived by his wife, Chris, two children, Elizabeth Ann Hollis and husband Stephen G. Scales Jr. and William Kirk Hollis and wife Rebecca (Vincent) Hollis. Four grandchildren, S.G. Scales, Samantha Scales, Shelby Hollis and Robyn Hollis. His mother, Margaret (Barrett)Hollis, his sister, Helen Cherry, brothers, Joe Hollis and Nell Hollis, and extended family and friends. Bill was born June 6, 1936, in Hollis, Okla. He received his college degrees at Cameron State Agricultural College and Oklahoma State University, obtaining a bachelor's and master's in accounting. He served his country in the Army, following completion of college. His career included working at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo., as a professor and assistant dean of faculty, as an executive for Great Western Land and Cattle Company and in several positions at Sandia National Laboratory. Bill and his wife, Chris, have been deeply involved in the Episcopal Church both in Durango, Colo., and Albuquerque, N.M. Upon his retirement from Sandia, he continued his commitment to Christ, serving as the bishop's executive. In October 1998, he was appointed canon by the Right Rev. Dr. Bishop Terence Kelshaw and the Right Rev. Bishop Maurice Benitez. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cathedral Church of St. John, 318 Silver SW. Albuquerque, N.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Diocese of the Rio Grande, in memory of Canon Bill Hollis. ***************************************
