Okla. Archives. ************************************************************ William H. "Bill" Wooldridge, Jr., 73, Altus, died Monday at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Gould Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. He was born June 24, 1927, in McQueen to William H. and Pearl (Marple) Wooldridge. He attended Gould School. He married Maxine Coyle April 15, 1946 in Altus. He was a sergeant in the United States Army, serving in Japan during World War II. He later served in Korea with the 45th Infantry Division. He retired in 1992 from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, the DAV and OPEA. He enjoyed sports on television, especial NASCAR racing, fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and four brothers. Survivors include his wife, Maxine,; five sons, Richard and Glenn Wooldridge of Yuma, Ariz., Jim Wooldridge of Sugarland, Texas, Joe Wooldridge and wife, Liz of Edna, Texas, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
