Mrs. Hilderbrand died here Tuesday (14 Jan 1964) (Perryton, TX). Rev. Norton Scrimshire, Methodist pastor, officiated, and burial was in Laverne Cemetery under the direction of Seeger Funeral Home. Lydia Mahaffey was born to Mr. & Mrs. George Mahaffey on June 17, 1884, near Rock Island, Ill. She moved to Alfalfa County with her parents, then to Beaver County, where she homesteaded in 1905. She has lived in Laverne since 1946. She and Ira Green Hilderbrand were married October 28, 1908, and they became parents of four children. Her husband preceded her in death. Mrs. Hilderbrand was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Neva Mills of Laverne; Mrs. Verna Spencer, Billings; Mrs. Mildred Woods, Perryton, Tex; one son, Russell, Mulvane, Kans.; three sisters, Mrs. Pansy Nelson of Carrier; Mrs. Inez Nelson of Enid; and Mrs. Etta Hilderbrand of Laverne; two brothers, Clyde Mahaffey of Logan and Embert Mahaffey, Springtown, Ark. Also, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
