Bohannan DUMAS - Charles W. Bohannan, 84, died Monday, April 14, 1997. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Bible Baptist Church with Jerry Clark, pastor, the Rev. Clyde Spain, evangelist from Decatur, and the Rev. Richard Weightman, Sunday school teacher at Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Bohannan was born in Stigler, Okla., and had been a Dumas resident since 1950. He retired from Diamond Shamrock in 1977 after 25 years as a pipefitter. He was a custodian at Dumas High School for 13 years until retiring in 1990. He married Lida Willis in 1940 at Colbert, Okla. He was a member, trustee and head usher at Bible Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Clyde W. Bohannan, in 1996. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Della Fortenberry of Del Rio; two brothers, Louis Bohannan of Houston and Donald Bohannan of Colbert; four sisters, Josephine Sanders of Dallas, Ida Fay Sampson of Savoy, Doris Sleeman of Euless and Billie Rice of Denison; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The family will be at 200 Chelsea.
