Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with Chris Kutin, chaplain at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Brown was born in McCurtain, Okla., and moved to Amarillo in 1924. He served with the Navy during World War II. He worked as a machinist for Santa Fe Railway for many years. After retiring from the railroad, he worked as a building engineer at Amarillo National Bank. Mr. Brown was a member of the Amarillo Police Department Auxiliary. He was an active league bowler at Western Bowl for many years. He was Baptist. He married Verle Tye in 1937 at Amarillo. She died in 1990. He married Juanita Harmon in 1990 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a son, James Frank Brown of Las Vegas; a daughter, Kitty Louise Rosas of Amarillo; a stepson, Clifton Ray Tucker of Amarillo; two stepdaughters, Anita Ann Tucker Poole of Oklahoma City and Mary Elizabeth Tucker Stovall of Flower Bluff; a sister, Hazel Taylor of Fort Morgan, Colo.; five grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the High Plains Children's Home.
