All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Oak Grove Cemetery--Laton CA Duty, Verna Viola VERNA VIOLA DUTY Mrs. Duty, age 83, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Saturday, February 24, 2007. She was born on September 18, 1923, in Keota, Oklahoma. Verna was a longtime resident of Riverdale until she moved to the Willow Creek Health Center in Clovis, two years ago. Verna was a loving and caring mother, sister, and grandmother. She was kind and humble with a wonderful sense of humor. She loved America and was a Rosie the Riveter during World War II. Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Duty. Mrs. Duty is survived by her only child, Carlos Alan Autry and his wife Kimberlee of Fresno; her grandchildren, Lauren Brown Autry, Heather Abelbeck Autry, and Austin Autry; her brothers Tony, Gene, Alvin, and Ronnie; and sisters Gladys, Ellen, Freda, Violet, Virginia and Elaine. A Funeral Service will be held at Peoples Church in the G.L. Johnson Chapel on Friday, March 2, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Laton, California. In lieu of flowers, and in honor of her affinity for those that labor in the fields, donations in Verna's name may be made to the Community Food Bank (Freeze Relief) 210 N.
