All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Burwood Cemetery--Escalon CA Marysville Yuba City Appeal-Democrat February 16, 2005 Richard Hewitt Richard "Jack" Hewitt, 84, of Marysville died Feb. 15, 2005, at Emmanuel Health Care Center in Yuba City. Born in Keota, Okla., he was a Yuba-Sutter resident for 14 years. He formerly lived in Colusa, Sacramento and Modesto. An ordained minister and member of the Olivehurst Freewill Baptist Church, he retired from the Modesto Gospel Mission in 1990 after 25 years in mission work. Beforehand he worked for Union Oil for more than 20 years. Survivors include a daughter, Wilma Leverett of Yuba City; two sons, Joe Hewitt of Foresthill and Rick Hewitt of Sacramento; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Helen Hewitt. Donations may be made to the Modesto Gospel Mission, P.O. Box 1203, Modesto, CA 95353; or the American Diabetes Society. Services: A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, preceded by visitation starting at 10 a.m., at Deegan Funeral Chapel, 1441 San Joaquin St., Escalon.
