Hulsey of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Alvadore, who died Feb. 27 following a heart attack. He was 71. Hulsey was born Jan. 18, 1933, in Lequire, Okla., to Herman and Katie Nowport Hulsey. He married Hazel Isaacson in Prineville on June 7, 1958. He served in the Air Force for 21 years and received technical training in computers and electronics in Oklahoma. He retired at the rank of senior master sergeant. He lived in Alvadore from 1972 until 2002 and he worked for Southern Pacific Railroad from 1973 until 1989. He enjoyed playing tennis, golf and softball. He also enjoyed community service and served on the Bethel School Board. He was a member of the Eugene Elks Lodge 357 and a former member of Shadow Hills Country Club in Junction City. Survivors include his wife; a son, Steve of Springfield; a daughter, Vicki Hulsey of Seaside, Calif.; four grandchildren; and one great- grandchild. The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. April 4 at the Eugene Elks Lodge 357.
