Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Llano Cemetery with Bill Zack, chaplain of the American Legion, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. King was born in Lona Valley, Okla. He had been a truck driver for the city of Amarillo for 21 years. He was a country and western musician, playing in the "Jimmy King and the Country Classics Band." He played in area clubs for more than 30 years. He was a Baptist. He was a veteran of the Army. He married Anne Barnett on Oct. 22, 1986, in Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Janice Giles of Cumby, Joye King of Irving and Jetina Polacios of Garland; two sons, James King Jr. of Mesquite and John Michael King of Dallas; four stepsons, Kevin Morris, Kindall Wiley and Jimmy Morris, all of Amarillo, and James Baker of Arnett, Okla.; three stepdaughters, Peggy Morris of Amarillo, Margie Freer of Dallas and Eunice Crumpton of Dumas; a brother, Arthur Robert King Jr. of Altus, Okla.; a sister, Opal Haughy of Crowder, Okla.; 26 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
