He was born on March 30, 1931 in McCurtain, Okla. to James Floyd and Ora (Nixon) McElhaney. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Genetta (Barnett) McElhaney; son Donald of Palermo; daughters Linda Sue Payne (husband Paul) of Susanville and Judith Tyndall (husband Robert) of Palos Verdes; granddaughter Lisa Martin and great-grandson James Paul Martin of Fairfield; brothers Rev. Curtis McElhaney and Charles of Oroville, Harmon of Lodi and Floyd of Palermo; sisters Bonnie Stinson of Coolidge, Ariz. and Lawanda Parsons of Palermo. He was preceded in death by his brother Jimmie Don. He served in the USAF, then worked for the Western Pacific & Union Pacific Railroad, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Calvary Christian Fellowship in Oroville. Services will be held on Tuesday, June 19th at 1:00 p.m. at Scheer Memorial Chapel with a viewing Tuesday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service...
