Red Bluff Daily News 05/05/2007 09:12:48 AM PDT JOHN MYERS John Willie Myers was born November 6, 1923 in Star, Oklahoma to Irvin and Rev. Stella Myers. John passed away May 3, 2007 in his home in Gerber. John met and married Pearl Essie Kern and they just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on April 27. They lived in Barstow before moving to Gerber in 1990. John served in World War II under General Patton as a munitions expert in Germany. John served as a church Deacon, and he loved gardening, woodwork, and fishing. John is survived by his wife Pearl E. Myers; a son, Eugene Myers, and daughters, Patricia Van Atten, Carolyn Satino, Linda Matteson and youngest son Randy Scott; John enjoyed life with twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Levata Scott. A memorial service will be held for John Myers on Monday, May 7, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at the Neighborhood Full Gospel Church in Corning.
