All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Greenlawn Memorial Park--Bakersfield CA Hershell Ivan Neal Dec. 18, 1921 Mar. 28, 2002 Services will be held Monday, April 1 at 10:00 a.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd., for Hershell Ivan Neal, 80, of Bakersfield, who passed away March 28, 2002 in a Bakersfield hospital. Pastor Doug Davis will officiate and interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Ivan was born in Stigler, Oklahoma on December 18, 1921. In 1942, he moved to Corcoran, California and got a job with Don Keith Trucking. He worked for Don until his retirement in 1986. Ivan met and married Virgie Bynum in 1945. They raised three sons, Larry, Dennis and Lannie. He also leaves many relatives, friends and people he worked with over the years. Ivan is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virgie; sons, Larry and Wraynell Neal of Sacramento, Dennis and Sue Neal of Bakersfield, and Lannie Neal of Bakersfield; one brother, Kenneth and Helen Neal; three sisters, Delilia Witt of Oklahoma City, Hilda and Bill Covert of Hanford and Lou Ellen and Tony Rubash of Bakersfield. He will be missed by his four granddaughters and seven great-granddaughters. Pallbearers will be Bob and Gary Murphy, Mike Phillips, Mac Hamilton, Bill Keith and John Gregory. Honorary Pallbearers will be Troy Robin, Herchel Rushing and Ira Kay. The family will always be grateful Ivan was able to enjoy being with his family. Visitation begins today at 1 p.m. at Greenlawn Mortuary.
